About the project

In 2026 my family and I moved to Berlin, and our daughter is just at the age when you want to see and try everything.

It turned out that Berlin has a huge number of events for children. But finding the right one took a lot of time. There are ticket marketplaces, but they mostly work with what earns them a commission: paid events and the organisers they have a deal with. Yet Berlin has a great many free events, and their listings are scattered across many different websites.

I wanted one catalogue with everything the city offers children — so that planning a weekend is easy and you can keep up with what’s new in one place.

Discounts are a story of their own. Berlin has the FamilienPass and the Super-Ferien-Pass, but their offers come in thick printed booklets. You leaf through and read “30% off”, but what it actually costs is unclear. 30% off 100 euros is still expensive; 30% off 5 euros is worth a look. I wanted to see the real price and find these places on a map.

At first I built lauf for my daughter, so I could find my own way around. Then I realised it could be useful to other parents in Berlin too.

Good to know

The descriptions and pictures here are only a guide: they’re how I picture a place so I can make the final choice. For anything exact — dates, times, prices and conditions — please double-check the organisers’ websites.

I’ll be glad if lauf helps you.
