A dancer and an actress bring Tolstoy's stories to life using elemental materials such as straw, wool, earth and bread dough. With music and humor, they play and dance the many characters within these tales — children, a grandmother, even a dog and a bird — touching on connection, responsibility and love, as well as loneliness, pain and death.
