In this book club, girls read and discuss contemporary picture books together, short enough to experience fully during the meeting without reading in advance. The books carry strong visual images and wide-ranging themes, from gender stereotypes to philosophical questions. Talking aloud about what they've read, the girls bring order to their impressions, find words for their feelings and enrich each other's thinking.
