This production addresses themes including violence, dictatorship, flight, political imprisonment, the struggle for liberty of expression and the press, and the fall of the Berlin Wall. Documentary video footage, projections and changing light accompany the performance, along with music, radio jingles and other sound effects. The audience sits facing each other across the stage, and at one point is invited to swap seats; some spectators may be asked to read a short text aloud, which is voluntary. A fog machine and a megaphone are used. The performance lasts 75 minutes.
