A researcher leads children on an expedition through Earth's history, exploring why some stones sparkle while others don't, how colourful layers form in rock, and how crystals grow. Using magnifying glasses, microscopes and hardness scales, children examine different stones and learn how volcanoes create rock and crystals. At the end, they take materials home to grow their own crystals. Places are limited and registration is required.
