Winterleben invites families on a journey back to the Middle Ages at the Museumsdorf Düppel. Costumed villagers show cooking, carving and spinning in reconstructed houses, while storyteller Silberzweig tells winter tales by the fire. Blacksmiths and a bonfire light up the village square, and soup, flatbread and mulled wine are available. Family activities include fire-starting with iron, stone and tinder at set times, pinecone decoration crafts, candle dipping and a participatory smithy with smith Frank Odebrecht, running for six hours.
