Ilka Vierkant meets Auschwitz survivor Jean Vaislic and confronts her family's past. Her grandfather Werner, a Nazi perpetrator, directed the Reichsbahn in the eastern territories. As a prisoner in Auschwitz-Birkenau, Jean laid tracks that Werner may have planned. Both had lived with silence for different reasons. Their meeting in Toulouse inspired Ilka to create this puppet production about remembering the past. Michael Vogel directs.
