Drehbühne Berlin stages Charles Dickens' story combining live acting, puppetry, film and live music, with the audience taking part throughout. Children in particular are invited to join in, secretly encouraged by Scrooge's sister Fanny to help “spook” along the action. Together with the audience, the embittered Ebenezer Scrooge, who despises Christmas as “humbug,” meets the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future. The production stays close to Dickens' original while adding its own surprising twists, and is recommended for children from age 6.
