Giselle, a young peasant girl who loves to dance, falls for the noble Albrecht. When she discovers he is promised to someone else, heartbreak drives her to her death. She returns as one of the Wilis, ghostly brides who force men to dance until they die, and in the second act meets Albrecht again. This staging by Patrice Bart, based on the original choreography by Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot, is performed by Staatsballett Berlin.
