This guided tour traces the escape tunnels dug under the Berlin Wall, including an original tunnel from 1970/71 seen nine metres underground via a 30-metre visitor tunnel. In the former brewery's vaults, full-scale tunnel replicas and 1964 documentary footage illustrate successes, betrayals and failures such as "Tunnel 29" and "Tunnel 57". The tour lasts about 90 minutes, involves many stairs and standing, and is not accessible without steps. Sturdy closed shoes are required and warm clothing is recommended.
