Ismene lives in the shadow of her sister Antigone, who stood up to state power and lost her life for her beliefs. In this play, Ismene becomes the central figure, asking what is expected of her and how she can carry forward Antigone's spirit of resistance. The piece is a commission by playwright Athena Farrokhzad for Theater an der Parkaue, directed by Farnaz Arbabi of Unga Klara in Stockholm, and receives its world premiere here.
