This puppet show by Figurentheater Ute Kahmann follows a child who senses something is different about Helmut, the new father in their life. Only after the fall of the Berlin Wall does his hidden secret come to light: Helmut once helped people flee from East to West Germany and was imprisoned for it. The piece explores courage and fear, compulsion and longing, and the struggle between speaking and staying silent. It runs 60 minutes and is recommended for ages 9 to 14. For safety reasons, jackets and large bags cannot be taken into the theatre halls; groups from educational institutions must hand in all bags.
