Based on a story by Friedrich Wolf, this puppet show follows a father who buys a live goose to serve at Christmas, keeping her in a box in the potato cellar. The boy Peter looks after the goose, names her Auguste and insists she sleep in the children's room, secretly taking her to bed. When the father tries to send Auguste away before Christmas, an uproar breaks out. The show lasts about 45 minutes.
