This children's opera in two acts is based on Astrid Lindgren's Pippi Longstocking. Pippi refuses to fit into school or any children's home, living instead by her own rules, full of unlimited imagination and determined to have fun together with her friends Annika and Tommy. The libretto is by Susanne Lütje and Anne X. Weber, commissioned by Komische Oper Berlin. It is performed in German and lasts about two hours including an interval. Different performances follow different episodes of Pippi's story.
