Director Babett Grube brings Eva Müller's autofictional graphic novel “Scheiblettenkind” to the stage for the first time. It follows a girl who, from age 14, juggles several jobs while facing mockery and self-doubt, dreaming of a path no one in her family has taken. She eventually finds her way into art studies. The production explores emancipation and social inequality, and addresses classism, mobbing, shame and sexism, with staging that includes strobe-like lighting, loud music and direct audience address.
