This 90-minute play collects fragments of memory, everyday life and history that all lead back to a country that no longer exists: the GDR. Through stories, letters and song lyrics, it searches for traces in the fractures between past and present, combining music and text, biography and history, thought games and interactive moments. The piece is based on the performers' own family histories, shaped by experiences of fleeing, leaving or staying behind, and asks what the GDR still has to do with us today. A post-show discussion with the actors and theatre workshops are offered alongside the performance, aimed at students aged 14 and up.
