Each child reads aloud to reading dog Chess for about 15 minutes while parents wait in the library. A short introduction explains how to interact with Chess before reading. Children can pet him while reading, and he gets a treat. After a short break, the next child takes a turn. Other children can browse the children's department, choose a book, or do tasks they brought along. The session suits children who find reading difficult, with supervision, and registration is required.
